So Uhm, yeah. I did a thing this past week, and I can't wait to share with you all what it is. I promise it's good news.
by: JaDen Greene

I just want to start by thanking all my supporters, customers, friends, and family because, without you, this wouldn't be possible. I recently made a huge investment in SeTu Clothing Co.™ and I firmly believe that this will be a major game-changer for the brand.
What is Screen Printing?
According to www.screenprinting.com, screen printing is the use of silkscreens and various forms of ink to transfer designs onto fabric. In the early days of screen printing, the mesh screens used to push ink through to the fabric were made of silk. In modern times, silk mesh has been replaced with other synthetic fabrics. The most common is polyester.
If you have a customer come to you and ask for “silkscreened” shirts, don’t worry. The term means the same as screen printing. The three terms “serigraphy,” “silk screening” and “screen printing” are all interchangeable. The term “silk screening” is still commonly used. If interested, you can purchase a screen printing machine from screenprinting.com. They offer machines as well as starter kits, providing you with everything you may need to get started creating.
Which Machine Did I Get?
The machine I purchased is called, SHZOND Screen Printing Press 4 Color 2 Stations...purchased from Amazon. Now I know what you are thinking, "JaDen, how are you going to tell us to shop at screenprinting.com and then tell us you got your machine through Amazon?" My answer would simply be, pricing. My goal is to one day acquire the Riley Hopkins 150 Complete Screen Printing Kit, but that has a price tag of $2,000. So if you ask me, a $175 machine is better than a $2,000 machine coming from a college student preparing to go to grad school. I chose the SHZOND because aside from the pricing, this machine would prove to be very efficient for the graphics I design for my products. I can load 4 screens at a time which will help expedite the printing process.
Why Did I Purchase A Screen Printer?
I'm not sure if you all may have known, the majority of my products have been printed to order. I would use a website like Printify or Printful and link them to my Shopify account. Whenever customers place an order, the only thing I have to do is pay the shipping and labor cost while the product is sent directly to the customer. Although it was efficient, this method prevents me from expanding my brand the way I want. When I start screen printing my own shirts, I will be able to carry inventory around for things like pop-up shops or on the go selling. Increasing brand awareness and availability is what I am aiming for in hopes of getting my brand where I want it to be.
What To Expect Going Forward:
Some incredibly dope sh*t! I won't be doing anything too crazy starting off, but once I get the hang of it then I plan on getting super creative with my designs and their placements on garments.
As things progress I will keep you all updated via Instagram, www.instagram.com/setuclothingco. There, I will be doing the unboxing, and I may even host a live-work session. Thank you for your time and shop our latest collection at www.setuclothingco.org, see you all in the next post.
