Lately, I've noticed that keeping the creativity when it comes to designing new products for my brand has been a problem for me. I've been trying everything in efforts to combat this, changing my diet, leaving myself open to new experiences, working out, etc. But, through trial and error I've found that what worked best for me was spending time with my younger family members. Immersing into the world they create and just letting imagination flow naturally allowed me to think of things differently. It was like taking a breath of fresh air. Spending time playing with my younger family members allowed me to see how mundane we become as we get older. Allowing ourselves to fall victim to the everyday battle of life whether it's stressing about money or worrying about the way the world perceives us. Believe it or not, the idea for my best selling shirt came from a play session with my Goddaughter. After 30 minutes of super power princesses and ponies flying spaceships, the concept of the the art hit me almost instantly. I admired how she took different aspect and worlds and collided them, giving off this why not attitude. When we think of superpowers we don't think of princesses, we usually think of people in tights, but seeing her go against the norm was like a beautiful collision.

Whenever you run into that wall we as creators hit from time to time, try to look at things from a child's perspective. Everyone might not have a younger sibling or family member available to reach out too, but the good news is you won't necessarily need to have one. Just look into the child inside of you and do things you use to do as a kid. What brings you that most joy or gives you that nostalgic feeling? Do that thing or reminisce about that and watch how the wheels get start spinning. This week was a short read, but as always I hope I was able to help someone out. Safe travels.
