A Beginners Guide To Exploration with Colors
By: JaDen Greene

You can buy pastels in two main grades: artists' quality and students' quality. Artists' quality pastels contain the best pigments available and a higher ratio of pigment to binder.
First Off,
What is a pastel? Pastels or pastel colors belong to a pale family of colors, which, when described in the HSV color space, have high value and low saturation. The name comes from pastels, art media characteristic of this color family. The colors of this family are usually described as "soothing." There are two types of pastels, Artistic and Students quality. The difference between the two qualities are the quality of the pigments. When it comes to fashion, working with pastels can prove to be expensive.
Styling
When wearing/styling pastels, there are a few ways that they can be put together according to the cosmopolitan.
1. Monochrome. Choose one color and stick with it throughout your outfit.
2. Mixed Pastels. Pair a few different pastel colors together for a soft yet bold look.
3. With Neutrals. Make your pastel piece pop by keeping the rest of your color palette simple.
4. With Brights. Add a little edge to the softness of the pastel with bright, fun accessories.

When starting off with pastels, it is best to keep it simple to avoid crazy color clashes. To each is own, but if your trying to push out product a desired target group practice until the preferred style has been perfected. Designing with pastel color based shirts work best with solid color graphics/text, to avoid said color clashes as well. I will go into color selection more in the next blog though. Stay tuned for future SeTu releases, we're getting real experimental with the color pallets this year.
